Hi, my name is Kate and I'm a shopaholic

I spend far too much time lusting over items from Evil Twin. I just cannot get enough! I might be in love with these beautful garments, my bank balance however is not, so can often be found on the look out for an Ebay bargain.

Evil Twin combines girly with hippy and twists it with a rocky edge. Think lace, tie dye, sheer and metalic fabrics and you're half way there. Here are a few of my favourties......

Want Want Want

I have a serious shopping problem (and I mean serious!). When I see something I HAVE to have it, however, it has got to the point when I have zero money and zero wardrobe space. Since my ex moved out I have managed to fill his half of the sliding wardrobe (every cloud), purchased a gorgeous metal hanging rail and filled several boxes under my bed. I literally haven't got two beans to rub together until pay day so for now here is my lust list......

ONE: Evil Twin @ Urban Outfitters
THREE: Staring at Stars @ Urban Outfitters

I am in love with the Staring at stars dress. I had been drooling over it for a week online before running over to it in my local Urban Outfitters and holding it as close to me as I could. It took all of my will power not to run straight to the changing rooms and try it on. One day my love. One day.

I have tried the Dr Martens on so many times and never taken that step to the cash desk. Can't quite make up my mind if they are too chunky for me. Do you have these? What do you think?

Waiste is one of those brands I can't help but be drawn to. Denim, crochet, paisley (need I go on?!) It also happens to be the inspiration of a beautiful blogger called Sara Louise Thomas. Her style is effortless. I aspire to mix patterns as well as her (I usually end up looking like a dogs dinner).

Chelsea Doll is a one stop shop for gorgeous jewels, nail varnish, bags and gifts and just happens to be owned by my beautiful and talented friend Rachel. So many unique pieces. I dare you not to find something you just have to have!

What are you lusting over?

Red and Yellow and Pink and Green

For those of you who know me, you'll be well aware of the fact that I haven't had "normal" coloured hair since I was about 14. I've gone from red highlights in my tender early years (I thought I was CRAZY), to bright red, to platinum blonde, to accidental orange, to hot pink, to lilac and back to an orangey peach.

My hair has always been open to comment from friends, colleagues and randoms. Some love it and some hate it. I often get asked what my next colour is going to be but recently my hair has become so damaged Ill be sticking to my peachy orange hues.

Now

I've never wanted a "normal" hair colour (I couldn't even tell you what my natural colour is!!) .......untill now. Recently I've been craving a brown and blonde ombre / dip dye and everywhere I look girls around the world are rocking the trend. It has that 90s grungy feel (and I wouldn't have to dye my roots! Heaven!) that looks effortlesly "cool".

This desire to look a little more "normal" (there's that word again) has been hightened by a comment made to me this weekend.

Whilst at one of the best friends in the whole world's wedding party a guy I hadn't seen for years decided to ask "aren't you a bit old for hair THAT colour?" To which I replied "I'm not as old as you" and walked off (wishing I could have thought of a much more witty retort!) However, it got me thinking, is 28 too old to have bright, "un-natural" coloured hair?!

Say rainbow coloured hair and you'll probably think of  Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Pixie Geldof and Ellie Goulding. All of which are in their mid to late 20s and rocking it! I wonder if anyone would dare to ask them if they were too old to have hair THAT colour?!

Come to think of it there are women who are a lot older then me looking amazing with hair all colours of the rainbow. It begs the question, are we ever too old to have hair THAT colour?

Pink to make the girls wink

Illuminating Powder Gelée Blush
I cannot tell you how excited I was when I saw this limited edition gem whilst flicking through my mum's latest copy of Easy Living magazine.  I have bags and bags of make up (some even unused!) but I never feel that I have enough. Despite the hefty £30 price tag i decided to take the plunge clicked 'add to basket'.

Estee Lauder says:

High polish blush.
Luminous and silky.
Tri-blend powder, gel and liquid in one.
Tease out a flush of soft, sexy colour and innocent glow.
Builds to a high sheen highlight. Use it demurely or daringly all over.
From the Pure Color Pretty Naughty Collection by Tom Pecheux for Estée Lauder.
FORMULA FACTS
• Colour true
• Smooth, even application
• Streak-free
• Dermatologist-tested

One thing I never leave the house without is blusher! I dabbled with bronzer as a teenager but wasn't fussed. Then few years ago stumbled across a photo of Sophie Ellis Bextor (the youngsters amongst you might need hit Google) wearing a bright shimmery pink high up on her cheeks. She looked like a porcelain doll and I HAD to find something similar. (Apparently, SEB has the perfect face because it is symmetrical. Every day is a school day.)

My sister joined the hunt for the perfect blush and introduced me to the perfect shade of baby pink which just happened to be eye shadow! My love affair with my eye shadow wonder product lastest a few years until the unthinkable happened............ it was to be discontinued!!!!! I bought up as many as I could and prayed they would last forever.

The obvious happend and yet again I was on the hunt for the perfect shade of baby pink that would transform me into that doll again. Now it had a lot to live up to. I have tried so many pink blushers, from gel to powder from matt to shimmer, none have ever come close to THE ONE.

Dainty Doll 002 My Girl

Dainty Doll has satisfied me for the past year and served me well but it's just not the same. It lacks that doll like shimmer I'm craving.

I seriously cannot wait for my new purchase to land on my door mat. Not sure I can wait that long!!! Let's hope it lives up to my hopes and dreams! I'll keep you posted......

There's No Place Like Home

People say that home is where the heart is and I can totally relate to that. Don't get me wrong, I love going on holidays and staying staying with friends but there's nothing quite like coming home. I knew I would be heading to town last night and my lovely friend offered me a place to stay (instead of paying a huge taxi bill!) Thanks Kim! Although I had a fab time (I don't know how we didn't wake her housemate up) it was nice to walk through my own front door tonight. It helps that I'm greeted by two boys excited to see their momma.

My house is small but perfectly formed (not that i'm biased or anything) and filled with a a real eclectic mix of old and new. I like 'things' and fit quite a lot of stuff into this bijoux 2 bed, pretty sure i'm a bit of a horder!

Here are a few of my favourite things........

Lamp: Antique shop in Falmouth

Whale: vintage, Phone: Ebay, The Vintage Tea Party Book: Amazon

Clock: Ebay

Ducks: Rossiters

Chair: From My Grandparents, Owl: Gift

Clothes Rail: Ikea, Picture: Charity Shop

Butterflies: Spitalfields Market, London

Clock: Closing Down Sale (similar on Ebay)

Hope you like them as much as I do!

P.S. Here's a snippet of last night......

A dog pulling a cat in a cart in the snow....

Just a quick one as it's getting pretty late and have a long and exciting day tomorrow! Had a lovely impromptue evening with my lovely friend Kim tonight. I find the last minute friend "dates" are usually the best.

Our nights out usually involve food of some sort (I would say that eating is one of my favourite things to do.) Our biggest problem is often trying to decide where to stuff our faces! To be fair Cardiff has some pretty amazing restaurants and coffee shops these days. Some of my favs are Bills on the Hayes, you can't beat a bagel in New York Deli and I love a chilled hangover lunch *ahem breakfast* at Barkers.

I seriously love the way that place is styled, I usually spend the whole time wishing I lived there. Tonight we decided on a bit of American style over indulgence in the form of TGI Fridays (who doesn't love their Jack Daniels sauce?! I could literally drink it). I did refrain from an Oreo milkshake on this occasion but more than made up for it with a Starbucks drive through trip. Tonight left my face hurting from talking so much and my stomach aching from laughing so much I was nearly in tears. Nights like this can make your day!

Kim super excited for her food!

It was a specky 4 eyes kind of day.....
